Workshop Overview and Objectives:
The government is the largest employer in the U.S., and they are hiring! However the complexities of the various federal application systems make it very difficult for the average jobseeker to apply successfully without professional assistance or information about federal employment practices. They need the help of human resources and career professionals who know how to find the Federal job announcements, understand the federal job titles and "grading system", how to write a correct Federal-style resume, and "how to apply" to various automated systems and Resume Builders. Now human resources and career professionals have the opportunity to learn this process from the pioneers in federal resume writing and government applications! A Ten-Step Certified Trainer will take the class through a fast-paced, one-day workshop, based on the principles set forth in Kathryn Troutman's award-winning text, Ten Steps to a Federal Job. This interactive program with classroom writing exercises will cover writing paper and electronic resumes for key application systems and using the new Office of Personal Management (OPM) model to write memorable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities statements (KSAs).
