Part 1, ECQ Intro Teleclass
Introduction to ECQs – An Orientation and Discussion of the 5
ECQs and the 27 Leadership Competencies and Characteristics. Kathryn
and Emily will discuss their interpretation of the ECQs and the 27
leadership competencies and how these competencies can be presented in
your leadership and operations experiences. Class members will
brainstorm with examples and gain feedback. This one hour will inspire
you to create a list of accomplishments that can be converted into
ECQs.

Part 2, CCAR Teleclass
Introduction to the preferred writing style for the ECQs: Context,
Challenge, Action, Results. The CCAR model is almost mandatory by OPM
Quality Review Board when reviewing your examples. Writing your
accomplishments in a clear story-telling style will help the QRB
understand your programmatic and leadership accomplishments. This class
will include a before and after example and you will see the difference
in the writing style.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
To get you inspired and started with writing your ECQs. To teach you
the importance of each ECQ and each leadership competency. To help you
understand the CCAR model and the structure of the executive narratives.
*TELECLASS SYSTEM
You will only need a telephone connection. This is not a web-based
course (due to computer security procedures). Handouts will
be in Word and Powerpoint files. You can receive them, view them on a
computer, or print them ahead of each Teleclass. You can take this
teleclass on a cell phone from your office or anywhere.
