Writing a Quickhire™ Resume
Format and Duration:
This is a 3-hour workshop with PowerPoint™ presentation, QuickHire application on-line demonstration, and in-class writing exercises using an outstanding 30-page QuickHire Writing Guide designed by the curriculum developer.
Workshop Overview and Objectives:
More than 70% of all federal vacancy announcements now ask the applicant to apply electronically and more than thirty agencies use some version of the Quickhire™ automated resume and Questionnaire system. This course will prepare jobseekers to apply successfully for federal jobs online. The course covers the best format and writing style to enhance the content and readability of an electronic resume. The trainer will also introduce the new Application Question formats, including Applicant Assessment Questions, Essay, Yes-No, True-False and other Question formats designed by HR Specialists and Managers. At the workshop's conclusion, participants will be more confident in their knowledge of resume and Questionnaire application system and in their ability to apply online.

Participants Will Learn To:
- Understand QuickHire Vacancy announcements and Questions.
- Convert information from the SF171, OF612 or paper Federal resume into a flexible 16,000 character QuickHire electronic resume format.
- Analyze the questions to discover keywords and skills that should be included in the electronic resume.
- Correctly, honestly and confidently answer the Applicant Assessment questions.
- Identify your core competencies and include accomplishments so you will stand out in a stack of Best Qualified candidates!
- Apply the Office of Personnel Management's model Context-Challenge-Action-Results, or CCAR, to write lively compelling narratives of experience and qualifications for Essays and Examples.
Syllabus:
Courses are off-the-shelf, but customized to fit the agency's application system. Final content will depend on types of positions, grade levels and specific needs of the contracting agency. This syllabus is an example of content typically presented in this course.

- Including Accomplishments - excellent training, brainstorming, writing, sharing and discussion around accomplishments.
- Demonstration: Writing an electronic resume with the samples on the CD-ROM.
