If you're a Supervisor, Manager, EEO Officer, Training Officer or Human Resources Officer with a federal agency affected by competitive outsourcing, your employees are relying on you to find effective solutions-fast. Participants will follow in the footsteps of Kathryn Troutman's award-winning book, Ten Steps to a Federal Job. This caring, comprehensive workshop will motivate employees to recognize the importance of acting quickly with an outstanding resume and Federal job search plan, and give them the tools to carry out a job change as quickly as possible. By the end of the course, participants will have prepared one resume and one KSA outline. Attendees will also be more aware of the different federal application systems and key resources that will assist them in their job change. Instructional methods include interviewing, brainstorming, discussing agency mission, contributions, and services. There will be computer-aided exercises, in-class writing practice, sharing accomplishments, and an PC demonstration of the "replace text" Federal resume writing technique.
In Part I, the Certified Trainer will lead the class through the job search and application steps and participants will practice writing targeted resumes and KSAs, using the Automated Resume Builder and CD resume templates. Participants will draft targeted resumes during a two-week break.
In Part II, attendees will receive one-on-one critiques in consultations with the Resume Place experts. The optional Part III offers 3 additional hours of follow-up editing of participants' revised resumes, via e-mail.
