Federal Resume & KSA Writing for Mid-Career Professionals and Senior Managers
Format and Duration:
This course is presented as a 1-day, 7-hour workshop, in a classroom format. The instructor will facilitate interactive exercises. The first half of the day will focus on KSA writing and the second half will focus on writing the Federal resume.
Workshop Overview and Objectives:
To get promoted, federal employees GS-9 and above must write resumes that STAND OUT above the competition and play up their unique skills and abilities. What is more, they must be ready to apply for a position that may appear at any time. This course will enable level GS 9-14 federal employees to write new, competitive resumes for advancement and career change. Through the Resume Place Certified Trainers' proven dynamic presentations and in-class exercises, participants learn techniques for setting their applications apart from the stack. During the course, attendees will write Profile Statements, new outlines for their current position, one accomplishment and one select KSA statement. The presenter will introduce a new model that will make writing the KSAs easier.
By the end of the workshop, applicants will be able to write one federal resume that will cover multiple announcements. Instructional methods will include lecture presentation, use of a PC overhead projector to "interview" class members, class discussions, and individual verbal participation. In addition, attendees will share accomplishments, skills and objectives in class
