Federal Resume & KSA Writing for Administrative & Technical Federal Employees
Format and Duration:
This course will be presented in a 7-hour workshop in a classroom format. The curriculum is a combination of lecture, demonstration, interviews, classroom activities, writing, sharing information, teamwork and on-line training. The first half of the day will focus on KSA Writing and the second half will focus on Federal resume writing and announcement analysis for key words.
Workshop Overview and Objectives:
Federal employees GS 1-8, who feel "stuck" in their career progress, will find this course to be an excellent remedy for the doldrums. Through lively presentations and in-class exercises, participants will acquire the necessary tools and encouragement to apply for higher-level jobs or to change their career. This 1-day workshop will help participants recognize their strengths and inspire them to write competitive resumes and KSAs for advancement and career change. The Trainer will demonstrate a new and easier way to write KSAs. In class, attendees will practice using the Resume Place's tips and techniques for setting their applications apart from the stack. When they are ready to move in their careers, employees will be focused and organized.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to write one federal resume that will cover multiple announcements. Instructional methods will include lecture, group and individual verbal participation, role-playing, in-class practice and PC demonstration. The trainer uses a PC overhead projector to "interview" class members. Participants will share accomplishments and objectives verbally.
