This course is perfect for any first-time federal job seeker. The typical attendee for this class is a private industry professional who is either out of work currently, or could be very soon. They are seeking a stable position utilizing their experience. Other attendees are career professionals who advise job seekers in federal job search. Some attendees are new graduates from college who are seeking federal jobs. And a few are military personnel who are seeking their first federal position.
Some of the class members (maximum of 15 people in a class) have been trying to apply for federal jobs for a year or so. They are frustrated and uncertain about their federal resume, KSAs, announcement selection and keywords. They come to the class to get help in the application process, search USAJOBS, understand the employment system and just learn more about the jobs.
Please call Sally London to reserve your space for this invaluable federal job search training course and/or course plus editing services. 410 744 4324, extension zero. Office hours are 9 to 5 pm, ET.
If you have questions about the course content, location or what to bring to the class. Please write lex@resume-place.com. Lex Levin is co-trainer for the course in the afternoon, and can answer pre-course federal job search and federal resume writing questions.
Bring your resume to class on paper and online if possible. You will rewrite your resume during the class for a USAJOBS application. If you have your resume in the USAJOBS builder, that can help you improve the resume during the class. Even if you submit your current resume to USAJOBS, you can work on a new version during the class and use your account.
“My eyes have truly been opened to the process of applying for a job in the federal government. Instead of viewing the KSAs with disdain; I now look at them as a opportunity to describe how well I perform the duties of my profession. The strengths, accomplishments and keyword exercises helped me to break out of the traditional bulleted resume mindset. The material presented covered the most important skills needed to land a job in the federal government. For example, tools to build resumes and write KSAs effectively. I really appreciated the way Kathryn highlighted chapters and pages in her book to jump start the class on the information needed to get “hit the ground running. I would highly recommend this course to anyone finding it nearly impossible to navigate the federal jobs process.”
