Jobseeker: Military/Veteran to Federal
Current Job Title: Information Assurance Manager, US Army
New Job Title: IT Specialist, GS 2210 9-11
Strategy/ Process:: Client was getting out of the Army within the year, and was proactive in looking to get a position in the Federal Government. He was highly qualified. He came to the Resume Place in May for a Consult, Federal Resume, Cover Letter, USAJOBS submission, and a 2-page Private Industry resume so he was prepared for an all-out “attack” on his job search!
Results: John received a job offer within a couple of months, but was disappointed when he was advised that due to job cuts, the position had been cancelled.
He sent numerous additional applications and received FOUR Federal Job offers! Two positions were at GS 9 and two were at the GS 11 level. His wife called us to let us know that he took one of the GS11 jobs at a VA Medical Center in December of 2012. They are thrilled!
By the time John was ready to leave the Army, his new job was lined up
