YES, WE HAVE HEARD THAT KSAS COULD BE ELIMINATED IN NOV. OF 2010!
(We hope they will be eliminated!)

As of now, however, many federal vacancy announcements still require you to write KSAs or essays for questionnaires. You can consider them to be Part 2 of your application. The purpose of the KSA or questionnaire is to help the hiring officials screen out applicants who do not have the specialized experience needed for the job and help identify the best qualified applicant. The KSAs and questionnaires are scored like an examination.
