Our Outline Format is preferred by federal HR specialists for the USAJOBS Resume Builder. We also offer a federal resume that is formatted for printing or uploading to USAJOBS using the resume upload feature. When you order our federal resume writing service, you have the choice of one of two resume formats (or receive both formats for an additional fee).
Outline Format
For copy and paste into the USAJOBS builder
- All text formatting to comply with USAJOBS parameters

- Includes accomplishments for Jobs 1 and 2
- This format is used for copy and paste into the USAJOBS Builder, as well as other online career builders.
Paper Format

- The same content as the above resume, but with a formatted style, similar to a private industry resume
- Features keywords in bold type with bullets
- Features one year specialized experience with formatting for readability
- Formatting features can include indentations, bullets, bold, italics for accomplishments and keywords
- This resume can be uploaded into USAJOBS and used as your Job Fair or Networking federal resume

What Makes This Outline Format Work?
Writing a federal resume is very different from writing a private industry one. Most federal resumes are 3 to 5 pages long. The challenge is to present large amounts of information in a clear, organized way that is easily scanned by both people and computers. The OUTLINE FORMAT succeeds because both the federal human resources staff or the online application programs can effectively identify that the experience you have meets the desired job qualifications.
