First-time federal applicants have to obtain important basic information about their federal job search before writing a federal resume and applying for federal positions. Not knowing what job title is right for you is one of the BIGGEST MISTAKES made by first-time federal jobseekers.
The federal career assessment and consultation will cover:

- Introduction to the official Classification Standards and keywords that will be important for your resume
- A search of USAJOBS to find an announcement that could be right for your background
- Grade level and salary discussion. What is the most competitive salary and grade for your experience and education?
- A review of your current resume and discussion of important changes that will make you more competitive with federal human resources specialists and supervisors
- A discussion of past federal job search experiences and solutions to turn around your job search to a more successful one
This two-part (45 minutes) or one session (90 minutes) consultation is mandatory for federal jobseekers who do not know what federal job title is right for their background. We cannot write a federal resume without the consultation and assessment of your skills.
