Nicole Schultheis is The Resume Place team lead for Administrative Law Judge applications, and has helped many aspiring ALJs prepare compelling applications, from 2010 through 2013. Co-author of the new The ALJ Writing Guide, with Kathryn Troutman, Nicole is an AV-rated attorney, as well as an experienced HR and executive writer, journalist, and scientific and technical writer with federal agency experience.

As a writer/editor she has served DHS Human Resources, DHS Science & Technology Directorate, and NIH’s Center for Scientific Review. Her articles have been published in The Maryland Daily Record, Maryland Bar Journal, Maryland Journal of Contemporary Legal Issues, and other professional and lay publications. She has edited numerous government publications for federal clients and readied manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.

Nicole has represented clients in federal EEO matters and has negotiated employment contracts and termination agreements for professionals in a variety of fields. Her years of experience have given Nicole a thorough understanding of the hiring process and what employers are seeking. She is a sought after speaker on federal employment strategies for lawyers, writers, and science and technology professionals.

Nicole holds a B.S. in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. She is a member of the Maryland bar. She is also the Immediate Past President of the Maryland Writers’ Association.
