Jessica Coffey is a Senior Resume Place Writer, Interview Coach, Certified Federal Resume Writer and Coach (CFRWC), Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), and Certified Employment Interview Professional (CEIP) with over 15 years of experience providing career management strategies to all levels of government and private sector employees.

Jessica specializes in the Resume Place’s Critique/Edit service, offering detailed comments and useful suggestions to help clients gain the competitive edge and develop their resumes and KSAs/essays into effective sales tools. Jessica’s ability to quickly assess and determine key areas of improvement for resumes and KSAs/essays lends itself well to the critique/edit projects she so enjoys being involved with. Jessica’s expertise in federal resume and KSA/essay writing has helped numerous federal employees and professionals transitioning in and out of federal employment become best-qualified.

When Jessica came on board in 2000, she helped create a formal Interview Coaching service that provides one-on-one interview training with clients and can include a mock interview. Many clients have benefited from the strategies they have learned, the feedback received, and the practice gained from these telephone training sessions. Jessica wrote the interview chapter for Kathryn Troutman’s book, “Ten Steps to a Federal Job,” and prior to the Resume Place, Jessica created and managed three successful mock interview programs.

Jessica has been a contributing author and editor for three of Kathryn Troutman’s books, The Student’s Federal Career Guide, 2004; Federal Resume Guidebook, 3rd Edition, 2004; and Ten Steps to a Federal Job, 2002; and Joyce Lain Kennedy’s Resumes for Dummies 5th Edition. For three years, Jessica served as Managing Editor for The Resume Place’s e-newsletter, Federal Career Corner.

Jessica received a BS in Business Management and a MEd in College Student Personnel Administration (with an emphasis in Career Services) from Virginia Tech.
