Nicole Schultheis is a senior SES consultant and Program Director of The Resume Place SES Application Writing Webinar Training. Coaching SES candidates to develop SES-worthy content, Nicole helps craft and polish structured narratives that meet the exacting standards of OPM’s Qualifications Review Board. Nicole is a licensed attorney (Maryland) and Certified Federal Job Search Trainer and Career Coach has attained a record of success, helping hundreds of aspiring senior executives attain certification since 2010.

Co-author of the ALJ Writing Guide, with Kathryn Troutman, Nicole also provides expert-level assistance to candidates for high-level scientific, technology, and policy positions as well as helping attorneys, judges, JAG officers and others prepare compelling applications for leadership and adjudicative positions.

In addition to assisting individual candidates, Nicole has provided SES consulting and/or editorial services to DHS Human Resources, DHS Science & Technology Directorate, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Professional Development Center, HUD Office of the Inspector General Human Capital Management Division, and NIH Center for Scientific Review. She has also helped SES leadership development candidates develop ECQ narratives at the Environmental Protection Agency, the Naval Ship Yard in Washington, D.C. and at the Air Force ECQ Writing Course held in Southbridge, Massachusetts, with Kathryn Troutman and Diane Burns. She has held workshops and served as a speaker in federal resume and ECQ writing at USDOT, TSA, the U.S. Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia, the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education, the American Medical Writers’ Association, and Civil Justice Works.

Her articles have been published in The Maryland Daily RecordMaryland Bar JournalMaryland Journal of Contemporary Legal Issues, and other professional and lay publications.
