How it Works:
SES CONSULTATION - An SES writer/consultant will
review your files and
set an appointment to talk about the strategy for the critique,
first-time writing assignment (homework for you), developmental
editing, schedule for production and logistics of the project.
EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING - All components of
the application
will be written based on your drafts and content. Our approach to
writing and developing ECQs is that YOU will be the content developer.
We will be your SES ECQ coach, consultant, analyst, editor and
reviewer. Our role will be the subject matter expert / developmental
editor service. The Office of Personnel Management requires that YOU be
the developer of the original content. It is acceptable to work with a
coach and executive editor on the final completion of the SES package.
PROOFS - Proofs are typically sent by email. You can
mark your changes
using “track changes” for the editor. Two proofs
are often provided, keeping the track changes or not. Whichever format
is the most efficient and readable.
TIMING AND DEADLINES - We will be watching the
deadline closely. We
appreciate your quick reviews and return emails so that we can keep the
project moving. Since it is a multi-component application, we will want
to complete each aspect of the project in a timely way. Please advise
if you are traveling or out of email or phone communication.
SES APPLICATION / TEMPLATE - Once you have an
excellent, professional
SES package you can apply for many announcements. After working with
us, you will have a Master package that you can tailor to new positions
as needed. The Managerial Factors may change, as will the job titles
and announcement numbers, but you will use the rest of the package over
and over again. You will be ready for a total SES Job Campaign!
