Ten Steps Author, a Leading U.S. Federal Job Search Expert, to Share the Latest Application and Resume Practices at Rare Germany Briefings

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Baltimore, MD--

"When it comes to getting a federal job, few people know more than Kathryn Troutman."
Mike Causey, former columnist, Federal Diary,The Washington Post
For those seeking U.S. Federal civilian employment, November brings the rare opportunity to attend free briefings in Germany with career motivator Kathryn Kraemer Troutman, author of the insightful, newly released book, Ten Steps to a Federal Job. This is only her second European tour since the publication of her first book in 1995. Troutman, who has trained thousands in the States, will be flying in from Baltimore, Maryland, to bring cutting-edge Federal job search techniques and crucial resume tips to Americans at military bases in Germany. Her free two-hour briefings will be of interest to people leaving the military, their family members, current Federal civilian employees, contractors and human resource personnel.

Troutman's briefings will cover the highly effective "ten steps" which are the focus of her new career book. The workshops will emphasize the critical steps of preparing competitive paper and electronic Federal resumes. "People think they can just throw a resume together," Troutman noted in a recent interview. "But when they're out in the job market for three months, six months or even a year, they realize how important it is to spend more time on it." She added that Federal job applicants need to understand the importance of focusing their resume toward the particular position they're seeking. And they need to learn e-formatting and how to use keywords in electronic resumes. In addition to planned topics, Troutman will also answer job search questions posed by her audiences.

Troutman's special FREE 2-hour briefings include:

Monday, Nov. 18th, Wiesbaden Catering Center, Wiesbaden, 8:30 -- 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 19th, Cantigny Club, Wuerzberg, 8:30 -- 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 20th, Patrick Henry Village, Madison Room, Heidelberg, 9 -- 11 a.m.

Friday, Nov. 22st, Vogelweh Community Activity Center, Vogelweh-Ramstein, 10 -- 12 noon

For directions and details, see http://www.resume-place.com/eurotour Register by email by writing to Scott Peters, scott@resume-place.com.

Attendees can also meet Troutman and buy her popular new title at Ten Step book-signings held after each briefing at the local AAFES Bookmark or Shoppette. In addition, Ten Steps to a Federal Job is available for purchase at AAFES military exchanges in Europe and at all other overseas exchanges. The selling price, $38.95, includes a CD Rom with 20 valuable resume templates.

Kathryn Troutman, a knowledgeable and personable speaker, is also available for media interviews during her German tour. To arrange an interview, contact Sarah Blazucki at (410) 744-4324 or sarah@resume-place.com. And for further information, visit our media center at: www.resume-place.com

Ten Steps is Troutman's fifth career title; others include The Electronic Resume Guidebook and The Federal Resume Guidebook. A Troutman reader and successful job-seeker, Teresa Allison, is a believer in the author's methods. "Kathryn explains the steps of applying for Federal jobs in a manner that everyone can understand," Allison said. Allison, now with the US Agency for International Development, adds that Troutman's insights into deciphering vacancy announcements and writing Federal resumes were key to landing her new job.
