Carla Waskiewicz, staff writer for The Resume Place, has over 24 years professional writing experience in corporate communications, employee recruitment communications, public relations, and advertising. Her broad-based business experience includes writing products and services brochures, newsletters, corporate profiles, annual reports, case studies, press releases, employee benefits materials, direct mail, ghostwriting, sales promotions, and marketing communications for private and non-profit businesses.

For the past 15 years she has worked as an advertising consultant providing communications and advertising services to businesses in the Baltimore area. She has also held positions as director of corporate communications for a recruitment advertising agency where she researched, wrote and supervised production of a human resources newsletter with a circulation of over 6,000. She has also worked as copywriter for a Baltimore-based full-service advertising agency and as a marketing communications assistant for a Pennsylvania bank.

For The Resume Place, Carla provided individual assessments and writing for employees for a discontinued non-profit organization in Baltimore, MD, The Empowerment Zone. The administrative, financial, grants managers, counselors and executives received outstanding private industry and federal resumes and cover letters for their new career search. During the Summer-Fall of 2002, Carla wrote and edited hundreds of Resumix resumes for Corpus Christi Army Depot personnel. By analyzing the FasClass Position Description library, Carla wrote key-word and skills-based resumes for helicopter repair and other Depot personnel prepared for the SW Army Region Database.

As a freelance consultant, Carla writes resumes for current and first-time federal jobseekers. She is a master at analyzing skills, accomplishments and focusing them toward particular jobs and grade levels. She makes the most of her client's experiences and strengths.

Carla has written the chapter on Federal Resume Writing for Administrative Support Staff for the Federal Resume Guidebook, 3rd Edition to be published August, 2003. She also write three resumes contributed to Creating Your High School Resume, 2nd Edition. Both books are published by Jist, Inc., Indianapolis, IN.

Carla earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Penn State University and has completed post-graduate work in business management at the University of Baltimore. Active in the community, she frequently volunteers her writing expertise to help non-profit organizations with fundraising, public relations, and promotional campaigns.
